batten down the hatches
Medicine Hat, brace yourself. Thursday is going to be a wild one.
Environment Canada says strong, damaging winds are coming. Gusts of 80 to 100 km/h. That's enough to wreck fences, snap branches, and flip a high sided vehicle. Plus rain. Up to 30 mm by Friday morning. Driving will be nasty.
At those speeds? Don't be surprised if you see a trampoline flying past. Or someone's shed taking a trip.

Heads up if you're traveling
Travelling north or into Saskatchewan? It'll be even worse there. Those areas are getting hammered harder.
Quick checklist
Tie down anything loose.
Watch for flying debris. And giant shadows.
Keep your phone charged.
The wind eases up late Thursday evening. Until then, play it safe.
