Murder Trial Set To Begin Monday

The second-degree murder trial of a Brooks man is set to begin testimony Monday morning at Medicine Hat Court of King’s Bench following jury selection on Friday.

Tesfahiwot Haile, 41, was found injured at an apartment complex in July 2023, dying in hospital three days later, according to RCMP.

Mounties announced in November 2023 the arrest of Abune Getahun on charges of second-degree murder in connection with the incident.
