Finding Light in a Heavy Week: A New Dance Floor and a Walk of Honour

This week has been shitty for a lot of people and until the whole AISH/ADAP payment fiasco gets sorted out, it will continue to be shitty. In the midst of shittiness there is a ray of light, two rays in fact.

Saamis Tepee Improvements

The new dance floor has been installed at the Saamis Tepee along with permanent seating, bleachers, picnic tables, a firepit and a concrete entrance making it more accessible.

Honouring Veterans at Riverside Veterans Memorial Park

The second bright spot is the new paint honouring veterans at Riverside Veterans Memorial Park. There was a crosswalk from City Hall to the park painted last year but the paint is now gone. This project was spearheaded by Edward Devine of Medicine Hat, a veteran who approached the city last year for the crosswalk. When the crosswalk faded so quickly, he worked with them again for a more durable installation, the artwork is his design.
