Criminal Allegations Against City Cop Continue Without Plea

Allegations of attempting to obstruct justice against a city police officer continue without a plea nine months following being charged with the indictable offence.

MHPS Const. Noel Darr, 57, was charged by Edmonton police in July 2025 for attempting to, “dissuade witnesses by  threats, bribes or other corrupt means from giving evidence,” according to court documents.

Those allegations stem from incidents which occurred between February 2022 and November 2023, states the sworn information filed with the Medicine Hat courts.

During Darr’s appearance Thursday, the court heard defence representation acknowledging the matter is becoming dated but action is awaiting legal instruction from the accused.

In a July statement from city police, the service said a Police Service Regulation investigation was launched in February 2023 following a complaint from a former MHPS employee.

Police allege it was during that investigation that criminal conduct occurred.

Darr’s next court appearance is scheduled for April 23 at Medicine Hat Court of Justice.
