On Friday Sept 4, the Citizens Walkabout brought about 200 people together at Rotary Park on Maple Avenue to raise awareness for those with disabilities.

A year ago, on August 28, 2025, the City issued a notice announcing they and the Mustard Seed had agreed to explore 2055 Saamis Drive NW as a potential new shelter location. The Mustard Seed withdrew their rezoning application less than a month later - on September 25, 2025 - after "numerous inquiries and concerns related to the appropriateness of this site" .
