In 2025 Medicine Hat’s election team faced a tougher challenge than usual. New provincial rules, a brand‑new voter list that the city was required to use, and a complete turnover of the team in charge made this one of the most complex elections in recent memory. Public Members Named To Task Force

The Resilient and Inclusive Community Task Force was created about a year ago. One of their goals was to find a location for a 24/7 Emergency Shelter. Two of the public members have since been elected to Council (Chris Hellman and Stuart Young) which left two vacancies for public members on the Task Force.
